Looking for a tasty snack? Grab some halloumi and whip up this dish in no time for a quick and easy afternoon bite.

Ingredients

  • 225g Dodoni Halloumi
  • 80g plain flour
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • frying oil
  • 200g greek yoghurt
  • the juice of ½ a lemon
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • ½ tablespoon sun-dried tomatoes with olive oil

Process

  1. Cut the Dodoni Halloumi along the seam in two halves and then into 1cm-thick sticks
  2. Mix the flour, oregano, salt and pepper in a dish and roll the Halloumi sticks into the mixture so that they are completely covered in flour. Shake them to remove any excess flour
  3. Heat the oil in a hot frying pan and place in the pan as many Halloumi sticks as will fit. Leave for 2 minutes and once browned, turn them over to cook on the other side for another 2 minutes. When ready, remove them and place them on absorbent kitchen paper
  4. To make the yoghurt sauce, add together the yoghurt, lemon juice, smoked paprika, salt and cayenne pepper, and mix well
  5. Transfer the yoghurt sauce to a serving bowl, decorate with ½ tbsp sun-dried tomatoes and add a sprinkling of olive oil on top

TIP: Halloumi sticks are the perfect canape, as well as an accompanying treat to any main dish.
